SOUNDING LIKE THE WORST Boston bar bands of the 80s (AEROSMITH, J. GEILS BAND) repleat with sultry female backups, thin ties and showman suits, fucked up names and horns, oh the horns! - ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT frontman John Reis has turned his back on earthmoving music like Circa: Now!s "Ditch Digger" opting to face the mtv generation with fifties rivivalist crap (Spending time at Gold Star Studios probably didn't help). If this is a bid to infuse todays rock and roll with the simplistic energy of yesteryear (there are numerous bands carrying that torch) I want nothing to do with it. Their quest to be a mainstream band brought them knocking on Kevin Shirley's (JOURNEY, BLACK CROWES, AEROSMITH) door to produce this dog with a limp dick. I'm anxciously awaiting for Reis to let Rick Froberg lead the vocals again; letting his guitar drive like jehu in tearing me a new asshole...
