RFTC Review From The June, 1998 edition of Watch Magazine

San Diego ska sextet stay punky, poppy & pure.

Rating: 4/5

When a band is absolutely smoking in concert, they usually have trouble converting their live sound to a studio album. RFTC doesn't suffer from this malady, producing an album that is one of the catchiest and purest rock releases so far this year. The group's kicker is the use of horns, not as flourishes to be added by studio musicians, but as full instruments that are just as important as guitars, especially on the songs Dick On A Dog and Eye On You. And the vocals are full of attitude, but without losing any technical proficiency, from the catchy-as-hell chorus of Lipstick to the use of breathy female backings in Your Touch. First single Break It Up is a textbook example of an anthem: power chords chugging away while the title of the song is repeated a whopping 38 times! The energy and exuberance of RFTC comes through loud and clear; an album well deserving of a self-title.
